Nadia
Hlibka has been exhibiting nationally for over 25 years.
A professional calligrapher, graphic designer and fine artist,
her artwork blends many diverse international cultural histories,
languages and styles. This includes work done for the Middle
East Studies Association; the University of Arizona Center
for Middle Eastern Studies; the Fletcher School of Diplomacy,
the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; the Watson Institute
at Brown University, the American University in Beirut; the
American Institute of Maghribi Studies; Tufts University;
and the National Association of Art Educators.
She graduated with a BFA, magna cum laude
from the Maryland Institute, College of Art (Baltimore, Maryland
1985) and an MFA from the University of Arizona in painting
(1988). She belongs to many arts organizations including:
the Society of Layerists
in Multi Media (SLMM, full juried member), Calligraphic
Society of Arizona (CSA), honorary member of the Collage Association
of Southern Arizona (CASA), the Association
of the Calligraphic Arts and a member of the National
Collage Society. She has taught workshops and presented
slide lectures on various topics for the Collage Society of
Southern Arizona (CASA), the Calligraphic
Society of Arizona, Paperworks,
the Southern Arizona Scribes (SAS) and La Liga del Arte (San
Carlos, Mexico). Her work is included in the SITES traveling
exhibition program of the Smithsonian Institution. Ms. Hlibka
was a featured artist in Somerset
Studio Magazine and has been in many of the juried annuals
of the Letter Arts
Review. Ms. Hlibka is represented by the Vision
Gallery in Chandler, Arizona, and Bohemia in Tucson. |
