Collage: Color + Composition = Confident Creativity
Workshop for the Contemporary Artists of Southern Arizona (CASA). Color theory is usually taught in the context and medium of painting. In this workshop, we will work like quilters at a “fabric swap”. Working with papers, fabrics, found objects, photographs, and other ephemera and images, we’ll interpret and adapt color theory and composition for the collage artist. Day one focus is on color. Day two focus is on composition. Day three combines, builds and explores working and practicing with workshop concepts. Study the dynamics of creating collage art emphasizing color and composition. Students may work in the media and styles of their choice with helpful critiques from Nadia and in the group setting. Students may request optional gel transfer demo/practice if desired and time permits.
